Software Engineer (AngularJS or ExtJS)
The Software Engineer provides design, new development and maintenance of an enterprise-level software as a service (SaaS)-based content management platform.
Cultural fit is a must. The Software Engineer must demonstrate the ability to listen with understanding and exhibit a collaborative, team-oriented style. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
The following job duties are not intended to be exhaustive or exclusive; other duties may be assigned. Management retains the right to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.
o Take a key role in building a world-class, enterprise-level, SaaS-based solution for collaboration, content production, management and delivery using multiple media.
o Perform a full spectrum of Web development tasks including design, application development, performance optimization and unit testing.
o Participate in code reviews, brainstorming meetings and cross-training sessions.
o Be proactive in improving the quality and maintainability of the application code, thereby helping the team work more efficiently and effectively.
o Provide ongoing support, maintenance and enhancement of the system.
o Work well individually and as part of a team using an Agile workflow.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
o 2
years of hands-on experience with front end/UI Web application development.
o Strong working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS or ExtJS.
o Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of:
o Web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, Ajax, JSON, Web 2.0, Web 3.0)
o Web application styling development (CSS)
o XML (XSLT, XSL-FO, XML-Schema, XPath, DTD, DOM)
o
o SDLC methodologies, particularly Agile
Web service technologies (SOAP, REST)
o Relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
o Version source control systems (Git, TortoiseSVN, VisualSVN)
o Application server containers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic)
o Must b e resourceful, flexible and committed and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Additional desirable skills:
o Familiarity with User Experience (UX) best practices.
o Ability to perform server-side programming (primarily Java).
o Experience in mobile application development (native: iOS/Android or browser).
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
o Minimum of two years of application software development.
o Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Management or equivalent experience.
