The Sports Fitness Club includes an aquatic center featuring a 25-yard lap pool, exercise pool, adult outdoor spa and children's area, which includes a wading pool, children's outdoor spa and Splash Park.
KIDS CAMP COUNSELOR (Seasonal) MISSION To personally contribute to the Kids Camp goal of providing fun, educational and varied activities for all campers, in a safe, positive and welcoming environment.
To participate in and lead camp activities such as games, arts and crafts, sports, rock climbing, swimming, cooking, special events and field trips.
REPORTS TO Junior Programming Director DRIVERS of SUCCESS Member Service Obsession Love of (& Experience with) Working with Children of all Ages Activity Leadership Skills Personable, Friendly Demeanor Team Player Professionalism, Responsibility Enthusiasm and Patience PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise all children enrolled in camp Lead games, activities, crafts, etc.
as assigned by Camp Director Treat all children fairly, but pay special attention to newcomers, shy children, physically or mentally challenged children, or others with special needs Ensure the environment is safe for the activities being conducted Know and enforce all Kids Camp policies consistently and fairly Know and follow all Kids Camp operational procedures Keep all club facilities utilized clean, neat and safe, and to help minimize the impact on other members and staff.
Establish rapport with children and parents; show genuine interest Be knowledgeable of other Youth Programming available and help promote these programs to campers and their parents Assist in the organized and safe transport of campers from one activity to the next throughout the club.
Ensure that all camp property, equipment and supplies are used and stored properly To be accountable for proper registration and supervision of campers, and to interact with parents to keep them informed.
Direct parents to the Activities Desk for Kids Camp and other youth program registration Other responsibilities or projects as assigned by the Junior Programming Director ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Qualified candidates, with or without reasonable accommodations must be able to:
Write, speak, read, hear and see Stand for prolonged periods Work outdoors (exposed to sun and weather conditions) Bend, lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
